(Prompt: Take a look at a list of actual sea shell names, and use one or more of them to write a poem.)

Last night did you hear
Those snooty sea shells
Gossiping under an incised moon?
The snout otter clam with its ghostly miter
Opined Jim would surely enjoy
Meeting the tuberculate Emarginula.
While the sniggling
Shoulderblade Sea Cat
Remarked on the Shuttlecock Volva
Of the beautiful Leather Donax.
“Oh hush,” the Sparse Dove demanded,
Though it wished some new confidence
For the Unequal bittersweet
Who suffers from a lack of self worth.
“She’s paired herself with
An Atlantic turkey wing,”
Whispered the Woody canoe bubble
With her triangular nutmeg,
“Even the False cup-and-saucer
Would have loved her far better,”
She said
With a nod of her pseudopod.
