I’d like to be wooed with honest talks,
Intelligent conversation.
I’d like to be wooed with tender words,
Love without hesitation.
I’d like to be wooed with diamonds and jewels,
With flowers and chocolate fudge,
By princes and heroes who flock to my side,
Begging for me to judge.
But when I am wooed by real-life beaus,
To link their lives with mine,
I have to admit, for my practical self,
A little wine is fine.
Prompt: Write a poem of love and wine.
